(www.levitjames.com) has announced that Los Angeles-based Greenberg Glusker Fields Claman & Machtinger LLP (www.greenbergglusker.com) has successfully implemented Best Authority® software and is completing an 18-month review of the product. Best Authority helps the firm’s secretaries and word processors build a Table of Authorities, or “TOA,” dramatically faster and with more ease and efficiency than the firm’s previous product, FullAuthority® from LexisNexis®.
Greenberg Glusker Applications Specialist Joseph Pinkney was a beta tester for the original version of Best Authority. According to Pinkney, Best Authority finds citations more reliably than FullAuthority did.
Pinkney notes, “FullAuthority’s ability to pick out citations was mediocre, to say the least. The program was only catching 70 percent of the citations which means it took twice the amount of work in cross-checking than creating the TOA in Word alone. Beyond that, FullAuthority’s process was too tedious for what it actually accomplished. You had to copy, paste and format the TOA after you had already used the program to accept and reject the citations. The process simply was not efficient.”
